  --Logging In--
Loggin in is case sensative. Your login name is your pilot's liscense number which is most likely your social security number. If you are logging in from a "web enables" wireless phone or PDA, Checking the "cellphone" checkbox is recomended.

  --Wireless Phone Log-in--
When checking the cellphone checkbox at login, you will be redirected to a slightly different version of the main data entry form. This form will be much quicker to load and contains a few differences. The date format must be mm/dd/yyyy with the slashes. For example, for february ninth 2002 you must key in: 02/09/2002

  --Lost Password--
Lost passwords are treated with great care. Due to the nature of the contect in this database, all precautions will be taken to keep your data confedential. If you lost your password, or having trouble loggin in, please e-mail info@logbookaccess.com with the following information:
  1. Login Name (your pilot's liscense number)
  2. First Name
  3. Last Name
  4. Phone number
  5. Your first logbook entry
  6. A random logbook entry
  7. Your last logbook entry
  8. Estimated time of you last successful login
I will compare this information with your data within logbookaccess.com and verify that the person requesting the password is indeed you. I will then send the password via e-mail ASAP.

  --Defenitions / Abbreviations--

  --Hints and Limitations--

  --Required Date Formats--
Entering the date in a correct format is very important. If the format is not correct, the flight will still be entered but with 00/00/0000 as its date. If you are using a computer please enter the date of the flight in the following formats:
02/09/2002, or 2/9/2002.
Do not enter dates as 02/09/02 or 2/9/02.

Main Entry Form

  --Adding Flights
To add flights, you must at least enter data in the required files marked by *. The required fields are: Type of time has one exception where you may leave it blank (*****). See
Type Of Time

  --Add / Delete New Aircraft--
You must enter in the aircraft which you are flying. If you are currently a student pilot, chances are that you will have to enter in a Cessna 152 or Cessna 172. If that is the case, you will not have to check any of the boxes which describe the properties of the aircarft. Once you have enetered in an aircraft, it will show up on the "drop down" Model menu. To go back and edit a specific aircraft you have already added click on "View Delete Model of Aircrafts". In this page you will see all aircrafts you have added and their properties. To change an aircraft properties, check or uncheck the correct box and click on "edit" for that model.
When adding an aircraft you must select its properties. If the aircraft you are adding is a Boeing 737, make sure you check the boxes that apply such as "multi-engin, high performance, complex, turbo-jet"
IMPORTANT:Do not delete an aircraft which has been used in a flight entry. For example, if you have six flights in the Cessna 150, do not delete that aircraft.
WHY? For those of you who are wondering why we did not make a hudge list of all the aircrafts i the world for you to select out of is because it would simply be annoying. Trying to find the Cessna 172 out of more than 500 aircrafts in the dropdown menu would not be practicle.

  --Cross-Country Checkbox--
Check this box if the current flight was a cross-country flight. When selecting Cross-Country, all the time (day+night) in the current form will be counted as cross-country. If you have made a cross-country flight, and spent an additional 2 hours doing "touch & go's" on your destination airport, it is up to you to decide wether those 2 hours of "touch & go's" should apply towards total cross country time. If you do not want the 2 hours of "touch & go's" to be counted as part as the cross country, you will have to submit a seperate flight for those 2 hours.

  --Dual Received Checkbox--
Check this box if the current flight was a flight in which you were being instructed. When selecting this box, all the ime (day+night) in the current form will be counted as "dual received".

  --Type of Time--
There is one exception in chich you can leave this field as *****. For example, if you do not currently hold a private pilots liscense, and being given flight instruction, you should leave this field ***** since you are not PIC, SIC, or SOLO. The Dual Received checkbox must be checked in that case. Another example, if you are training for you multi-engine certificate, your flights are not PIC, SIC, or SOLO. Therefore Dual Received must also be checked. I cannot think of a possible scenario of where you can leave the Type of Time filed as **** and not have "dual received" field checked.

Queries

Queries is going to be one of your most powerfull and time saving fuctions in logbookaccess.com. Here you will be able to check your statistics on your flights.

  --View The Logbook--
In the main data entry form, you will see a link called "View The Logbook". This will show every entry you have made. This page will show up to 20 entries at a time. To go to entries past your 20th entry, you can eneter in the entry you would like to start out with. "View The Logbook" will show flights even if no time has been logged. To see flights in which the dates were not enetered in the correct format, select to sort by Date in Ascending order. When you click "sort" all flights with the date 00/00/0000 will be visible. Flights with 00/00/0000 were flights in which the date was not properly entered.

  --Aircraft Totals--
This is a very useful query showing your total time in each aircraft. It will not display aircrafts in which you have no time in, even if they are on your aircraft's list.

  --Multi-Engine Total--
Here you can see your total multi-engine time. If you haven't properly selected the properties of the aircraft when you added your aircraft, the totals will be wrong. For example, if you flew 20 hours in the Boeing 737, but you have not selected the "multi-engine" checkbox when adding the aircraft first time, the Boeing 737 will not be counted toward your multi engine time. To correct such a case, go to "Add / Delete New aircraft" then click on "View Delete Model of Aircrafts". In this page you will see all aircrafts you have added and their properties. To change an aircraft properties, check or uncheck the correct box and click on "edit" for that model.

  --PIC Total--
Selecting this query will result in your total Pilot in Command time. This will also add up your solo time since solo is PIC time.

  --Cross-Country Total--
When selecting this query, you will see you total cross-country time. Below, you will see all flights which apply. As you'll notice, all those flights will have the "cross-country" checkbox checked.

  --Night Total--
When selecting this query, you will see your total night time. Below, you will see all flights which apply. As you'll notice, there will be no flights showing which do not have any night time.

  --Instrument Total--
When selecting this query, you will see your total instrument time. This is your instrument regardles of if it was actual instrument (IMC) or simulated instrument. This will also show your simulator or training device simulated instrument time.

  --More queries...--
There are two types of custom queries. The first type is the one you will see when you click on "more queries..." is aircraft propety based. It is slightly different then the second custom query which is aircraft based.
The aircraft property based custom query gives you the option to run a query on you flights based on their date, your role in the flight, aircraft's properties and three other miscelanious options. To start out you must decide your date criteria. the first date field would decide at which date you want to start your queries. For example, if you type in 2/9/2000, your query results will only be flight including 2/9/2000 and after. The second date field is the stop date. If you selecet 9/9/1999, your query result will only be flights including 9/9/1999 and before. Both of these fields are optional and can be left empty.
Next is a row of selections of what output you would like. you can only select one out of the following You must make a selection out of one of these 4 fields. The other three must be left at the default *****.
  1. Total Time filed includes:
    • Total Time = (day time) + (night time)
    • Total Night
    • Day Day
Select from Total Time when you want to find out things about your general flight time.

  2. Instrument Time include:
    • Total Instrument = (IMC) + (Hood)
    • IMC - Actual instrument
    • Hood - Simulated instrument
Select from Instrument Time when you want to find out things about your instrument time.

  3. Total Landings includes:
    • Total Landings = (day landings) + (night landings)
    • Total Day Landings
    • Total Night Landings
Select from Total Landings when you want to find out things about your total landings.

  4. Instrument Approaches includes:
    • Instrument approaches
Now we move on to your role in the flight. The following fields are PIC, SIC, and SOLO. Out of each field you can select YES, NO, or ****.
Selecting YES means that each flight must contain that field. Selecting No means that each flight cannot contain that field and selecting **** means that it does not matter.
Here are some examples of different queries:

(Click on the example to see the changes to the fields)
Total Night Time SOLO flights in a Single-Engine plane
Total IMC in a cross-country flight, acting as PIC in a multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft.
Total Night Landings as PIC in a Multi-Engine plane which is NOT complex after 12/26/2001
    Total Time on 1/1/2003
Total Day Time as SIC in flights which were NOT Cross-country and were made in a turbo-jet aircraft which is NOT multi-engine.
